Ben Chance
Ben Chance joined Early Warning® as the Chief Fraud Risk Management Officer in January 2023. In this role, he is responsible for Fraud Risk across the Decision Intelligence, Zelle®, and PAZESM networks for Early Warning®. Ben works across our network participants to reduce their risk and improve the security of the financial ecosystem. Ben also leads our Network Governance team with responsibility for development, implementation, and governance of our network operating rules.
Prior to joining Early Warning®, Ben was the Global Head of Fraud for Barclays from 2018 to 2022 with responsibility for fraud strategy, analytics, technology, and operations across retail consumer and non-consumer business units in the UK, Germany, and the US. Prior to Barclays, he was the Head of Fraud and Business Risk for the consumer business within Goldman Sachs from 2015 to 2018 where his responsibility included the startup of the Marcus business unit and the launch of Apple Card. Ben started his career in financial services with Capital One in 2003 and held a number of leadership positions over his twelve year tenure.
Ben joined the industry after his service as a submarine officer in the US Navy. He holds a BS in Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy as well as a MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Ben sits on a number of industry forums where he is focused on improving consumer and financial institution outcomes through improved fraud risk management.
